Don't hunt for suicides. Jab and F Smash are very good tools, along with Dedede tilt for the speed. Use that to start one of Chroms many good aerial, and even one of the few neutral combos

Only do Chromicide when a stock above your opponent now

Using Chrom's Up-B out of shield becomes pretty handy if your opponent is pressuring you, just do not become so obvious as to use it all the time.

Don't be afraid to chromicide if your opponent has a large percentage lead on you. You'll start a new stock even with the opponent rather than risking giving him a stock lead.
