You're pretty much screwed if you are Little Mac, just try to grab his bonus fruits and use his fire hydrant against him.

If you put down a trampoline/hydrant on stage Mac is forced to hit it or jump over it (not highly recommended) before he can attack you directly. Edgeguarding Mac is a joke, do it every time.
